Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics Student.
I'm Ankit Bhattarai, a Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics student with a growing focus on offensive security, penetration testing, and practical security testing.
Security starts with understanding how things work.
Learning by Understanding How Systems Work
My interest in cybersecurity grew from wanting to understand what happens behind the technology we use every day — how applications communicate, how networks are built, how vulnerabilities appear, and how small weaknesses can sometimes lead to larger security problems.
I enjoy learning by getting hands-on. Instead of studying security concepts only theoretically, I spend time working with security labs, testing environments, web applications, networks, and different security tools.
Platforms such as PortSwigger, TryHackMe, Hack The Box, CTFs, and other practical environments have helped me develop my understanding of reconnaissance, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and security analysis.
During my cybersecurity internship, I gained practical exposure to vulnerability assessment, web application testing, network testing, and security report writing. This helped me understand that finding a vulnerability is only one part of security — understanding its impact, documenting it clearly, and thinking about remediation are equally important.
Alongside cybersecurity, I have experience with web development and software testing, and I continue building my skills in technologies such as Python, C#, HTML, and CSS.
I'm still learning, and I consider that an important part of the journey. Cybersecurity constantly changes, so there is always another technology to understand, another vulnerability to investigate, and another problem to solve.
